Bukayo Saka has issued a message to the Arsenal fans following their 1-1 draw with Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening in the Premier League.
After their 1-1 draw with Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening, Arsenal
star Bukayo Saka sent a short message to the club’s fans.
After falling behind to an early strike from former Gunners winger Theo Walcott, Mikel Arteta’s side hit back following the half time break thanks to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s third Premier League goal of the campaign, with Saka playing an instrumental role in the Gabon international’s equaliser.
The Gunners, though, were forced to work hard for a point in the closing stages, with Brazilian centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes sent-off for a second bookable offence after tugging down Walcott, as the speedy attacker threatened to get away.
Nevertheless, even though they could have snatched all three points had Rob Holding’s header not come back off the bar in the closing stages, Arsenal managed to cling on for a point.
Although the draw with the in-form Saints of Ralph Hasenhuttl brought the four-match losing streak
of the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium to an end, the result was still a long way off from what
both Arteta and the supporters of the club expect, with the Gunners now winning only one of their last nine league matches.
With wins proving extremely difficult to come by for Arsenal right now, Saka sent a post to the club’s fans on social media, almost apologizing for their present woes.
On Twitter and Instagram, Saka wrote: “You deserve more, Arsenal fans.” Saka accompanied those five words with a broken heart emoji, implying that he is hurting just as much as the supporters during this current rut.
